Alicia Keys: A Minimalist Skincare Routine For Angry, Acne-Prone Skin
Back in 2016, Alicia Keys was applauded for declaring that she was giving up makeup. Seeing her rock a fresh-faced look on the red carpet was revolutionary, especially since there wasn’t a blemish in sight. Keys has now re-entered the world of cosmetics, but only because she has finally managed to overcome the angry breakouts that have plagued her since her teenage years.
How did she manage to clear up her complexion?
By stripping down her skincare routine and taking it back to basics. Keys begins with a gentle cleanser, praising the properties of chamomile for keeping the skin feeling calm. At Avinichi, we completely agree, which is why you’ll find chamomile extract in our Noni Mousse Cleanser.
Keys then exfoliates, before following up with some aloe vera gel. After this, a serum and then a moisturizer. Once her skin is moisturized, Keys relies on her facial roller to massage all of those products into her skin. These are great little tools to have, which is why you’ll find one included in the Avinichi Phyto Thermal Collection. Ours is made from jade, which is revered for how it clears up the look of the skin.
Finally, Keys finishes with an eye cream, a sunscreen, and some lip balm. The latter is also her go-to for when her face needs some extra luminosity. She dabs a small amount onto her eyelids and cheeks to leave those areas looking brighter and more lifted.
Ashley Graham: A Hydrating Skincare Routine For Combination Skin
Skin struggles aren’t anything new for Ashley Graham. Although the model always sports skin that looks stunning, her combination skin has been problematic over the years. She was then hit by rosacea during pregnancy, after which dryness became more prevalent. Now a mother of three, Graham is delighted to have finally gained some control over her skin, which she attributes to the use of a few key techniques and ingredients.
Firstly, Graham is a big fan of double cleansing. She begins with an oil-based micellar cleanser and follows this up with a water-based jelly cleanser. Next up is a toner, which Graham states has been vital for helping to counter the feeling of a bumpy forehead. Toners, in general, are great for balancing out the complexion and providing a splash of hydration, which is why our Noni Pore Purifying Toner is such a hit!
The next step in Graham’s skincare routine also happened to be the biggest game-changer for her skin; a vitamin C serum. She noticed that her complexion really transformed once she added one to her skincare routine. She currently favors serums that combine vitamins C and E, which is what we’ve done with the Avinichi Hydrating Multifruit C-Serum. You’ll find vitamin A in there too, another ingredient loved by so many celebrities!
Graham then rounds things off with some self-tanner, a face mist, and a moisturizer. Finally, she applies an eye cream and then a sunscreen. If she plans on wearing makeup, then she’ll also give her skin a spritz of a face mist, which helps her makeup look much fresher.
Miranda Kerr: A Holistic-Inspired Skincare Routine For Hyperpigmented Skin
Miranda Kerr didn’t have too many skin issues growing up, but hyperpigmentation hit once she became pregnant over ten years ago. Since then, she spent years battling with the dark spots that would dominate her face, seeking out products that were capable of helping with the appearance of hyperpigmentation. After favoring products containing natural ingredients, Kerr started to see some improvements. This eventually led to the bright and even complexion that she boasts today.
Kerr kicks off her skincare routine with a foaming cleanser. With her skin type veering toward the oily side, this works well for her. However, if your skin type is dry or combination, be wary about foaming cleansers as many of them are infamous for being too harsh.
Kerr then turns to a face scrub to leave her skin feeling invigorated. She favors scrubs that brighten the look of the skin, which is exactly what our Noni Polishing Peel does.
The next step for Kerr is a face mist, followed by a vitamin C serum and a moisturizer. A hydrating eye cream comes next, which helps with the appearance of the dark circles that Kerr sometimes wakes up with. If you can relate, look for an eye cream designed specifically to tackle this issue, such as the Avinichi Dark Circle Eye Perfecting Cream. It’s bursting with plant-derived antioxidants, ingredients that Kerr always champions.
Kerr then tops her skin with a face oil before applying an SPF 50 sunscreen. Her final step is to dab a hydrating lip balm onto her lips to keep her pout looking soft and smooth.
Naomi Watts: A Quenching Skincare Routine For Sensitive Menopausal Skin
Not only did Naomi Watts have to cope with years of suffocating her skin with multiple applications of makeup each day, but when early menopause hit, her skin reactions became so much more severe. Dryness and sensitivities became her biggest issues and she needed to find a solution ASAP. Fortunately, she did. Watts toned down her skincare routine, getting rid of any products that were too stripping or too harsh.
For example, although Watts used to be a big supporter of the double cleanse, she no longer is. A single cleanse does the job for her, and she also only exfoliates once a month instead of once a week. A rose water face mist is also a must for her, which she then tops with a toner.
Next up is her favorite step; a hyaluronic acid serum. Watts favors products that combine multiple humectants, raving about how this has a noticeable plumping effect on her complexion. This is most certainly true, and is why we’ve included five humectants in the Avinichi Hydrating Antioxidant Serum, which you’ll find in our Phyto Thermal Collection.
Just like the other celebrities that we’ve featured, Watts finishes up her skincare routine with a moisturizer, some sunscreen (she prefers SPF 30-40), and a layer of lip balm.
Suki Waterhouse: A Simple Skincare Routine For Dry and Flaky Skin
With Suki Waterhouse’s father being a cosmetic surgeon, the model/actress/singer-songwriter has always been immersed in the beauty industry. With dry skin that’s often difficult to deal with, Waterhouse tends to mix up her skincare routine quite often, choosing products based on her skin’s specific needs for that day.
Having said that, there are a few essential steps that she always follows. The first is to cleanse, after which she applies a serum. Waterhouse often recommends antioxidant-rich serums, with antioxidants being a must in order for your skin to look its best. You’ll find plenty of them in the Avinichi Super-Dewy Bead Serum, which is in our Mulberry Hydrating Regimen.
Waterhouse then slathers her face with a rose-infused face oil. A moisturizer is the next step – an essential for all skin types but especially dry skin. This is why Waterhouse always leans toward thicker moisturizers – the richer, the better! Formulas packed with plant oils and butters, like Avinichi’s Noni Night Repair Cream, are always a good way to go.
Finally, Waterhouse applies an SPF 46 sunscreen, before applying either a tinted or a lip-enhancing balm to her lips.
January Jones: An Easy Skincare Routine For High-Maintenance Skin
Take a look at January Jones and you’ll immediately notice her smooth, dewy, and flawless complexion. Sure, some of this may be down to good genes but the actress is also a self-confessed skincare addict, and has been since she was 18. Scroll through her social media feeds and you’ll see everything from face mask selfies to skincare shelfies. Experimenting with new products is something that Jones has always enjoyed, and we would have to agree!
Jones kicks off her skincare routine by splashing her face with water. She then exfoliates – every single day. This is the opposite of Naomi Watts, featured earlier, who only exfoliates once a month. Both have gorgeous skin, showing just how important it is to tailor your skincare routine to what your skin actually needs.
Jones then follows up with a couple of different serums, ensuring that hyaluronic acid and vitamin C are always in there somewhere. A cream is next, with the actress finishing with a sunscreen.
When she has some extra time, Jones never says no to a face mask. She’ll often choose to don one before stepping in the bath, with a hair mask applied to her locks too. Jones usually chooses masks that resurface the look of the skin, which is what our Phyto Remedy Thermal Mask has been designed to do. This formula gently heats up as it’s applied, making it feel like you’re enjoying a spa facial from the comfort of your own home!
Summary
Skincare routines are very personal – what works for your favorite celebrity may not necessarily work for you. That’s why it’s important to resist the temptation to copy their routines outright. There’s nothing wrong with treating yourself to some of the same products that they use (assuming that you have the same skin type) or basing the steps that you follow around what they do, but make sure that you’re always prioritizing your skin’s individual needs. Keep an eye on how your skin reacts when you make changes to your skincare routine, so that you can respond accordingly to encourage your skin to look its very best at all times.
